Currently there are 17 teams playing in the 5-aside League matches: Division 1 with 9 teams and Division II with 8 teams. The Macfarlane Trophy is awarded to the winners of Division I and the Thomson Cup to the winners of Division II.

Teams play either home or away. In Division I there are 4 home and 4 away matches. In Division II there are 3 home and 4 away matches, or 4 home and 3 away matches.. Two teams move up each year from Division II and two teams are relegated from Division I and assume the home and away places vacated by the other teams.
